FORGIVENESS
So who says he’ll forgive you
And says that he’ll miss you
And dream of your sweet memory
God does
But I don’t
God will
But I won’t
And that’s the difference
Between God and me

As the January 6th Committee made clear, former President Trump sat on his hands watching TV for 187 minutes while the Capitol was attacked by a mob of “patriots”, some of whom were armed. Testimony has revealed that he not only condoned what was happening—indeed he initiated it and as some put it, threw gas on the fire. Despite pleas from his staff, congressional leaders, and even family members, he refused to go on air and call off the mob. When he finally went on air to tell the insurrectionists to go home, he told them he loved them and that they were “very special”. To this day he has refused to concede the election.
The Justice Department is conducting an investigation into the actions—or inactions—of the former President. Attorney General Garland says they will follow the facts where they lead, and that no one is above the law. Many feel that more than enough has been uncovered to cause the Justice Department to charge the former President. The question is, at the end of the day, will he be forgiven? God knows.
Fuck, no!
