Melting

The snowpack outside is deep but they say it will melt

They say Spring will come it always has

They are wise

Water will pool up over clogged storm drains

Runoff will cause rivers to rise

Floods for sure

Time will melt away running fast to future

All liquid will transform somehow

We are liquid

Snow will melt to water but some wonder

If empathy will melt a heart

I am told

Youth has melted away and now we are old

Suppose wisdom sets in

Like a fossil

The old lady using a walker entered the store

I smiled at her as we passed

She smiled back

We are set in stone or maybe ice

If ice it will melt

Down the river
